About me
I have always been interested in how language and society work, and in how to make them tangible through empirical and computational methods. That is why I studied computer science and computational linguistics alongside German and English studies, and went deeper into the digital humanities.
Today I am a PhD candidate and research associate at the Department of German Studies at Heidelberg University, where I work in computational linguistics under the supervision of Maria Becker. My dissertation (working title: Multidimensional Text Profiling of Patient-Oriented Medical Communication) investigates how properties of clinical texts, such as comprehensibility, professionality, and empathy, can be assessed using language models.
I also contribute to NLP projects in science and political communication. My work has appeared at venues including EMNLP and LREC.
